Tough Insect??

Its been a long time since the last time i update my blog. Its has been a pretty busy week for me.
I got something interesting to tell my reader. Its about COCKROACHES. I know its
a YUCK and SCARY insect for some people, but it is one of the most perfect insect
that has evolve through time. the earliest cockroach like fossils is found around 354-295
million years ago. This insect can survive even the most extreme condition.
I am not gonna babbling about this insect, i just want tell u what really interesting about them and
why they can live in extreme environment.
-Cockroaches leave chemical trails in their feces as well as emitting airborne pheromones for swarming and mating.
Other cockroaches will follow these trails to discover sources of food and water, and also discover where other cockroaches are hiding.
Thus, cockroaches can exhibit emergent behavior, in which group or swarm behavior emerges from a simple set of individual interactions.
-Cockroaches are mainly nocturnal and will run away when exposed to light.
A peculiar exception is the Asian cockroach, which is attracted to light.
-Cockroaches can live without his head. Well, it maybe takes a week or
two until cockroach die because of starving. Cannot eat obviously.
-There are about 4,000 thousand species, and some of it capable of remaining active for a month
without food.
-Some can go without air for more than 45 minutes.
In one experiment, cockroaches were able to recover from being submerged underwater
for half an hour.
-COCKROACHES WILL INHERIT THE EARTH IF HUMANITY DESTROYS ITSELF IN A
NUCLEAR WAR. Maybe some already hear this phrases, its kinda true though.
Cockroaches do indeed have a much higher radiation resistance than vertebrates, with the lethal dose
perhaps 6 to 15 times that for humans. However, they are not exceptionally radiation-resistant compared to other insects,
such as the fruit fly.
